This Unit provides contractual advice and project administrative support for the following types of Outside Work and contractual activities undertaken by QUT with business, industry and government:
- All Commercial Research projects
- Consultancy projects if
- Expert witness services irrespective of value;
- International consultancy irrespective of value;
- Activity does not use QUT’s approved contract template; or
- Valued at $10,000 and over
- Other agreements, including:
- Testing services
- Memoranda of Understanding
- Confidentiality/ Non-disclosure Agreements
- Study tours
- Material Transfer Agreements
- Other legal agreements
QUT staff who are considering Outside Work should contact OCS as soon as possible, and before the project commences, so that assistance and advice can be provided. Refer to the MOPP D7.1 for guidance on QUT staff doing outside work
The OCS Business Managers assist with the process of setting up new projects and negotiating contracts. OCS Project Officers assist by managing the invoicing of the projects.
